☕️🫖🥤 Caffeine Showdown: What‘s Really in Your Cup? 🧠💪

Hey #FitFam! Today, let’s talk about everyone‘s favorite pick-me-up: caffeine! 👀 As a sports nutritionist, I often get asked about caffeine intake. So, I’ve done some digging, and the results might surprise you!

🔍 Did you know?

  • A Grande Starbucks Americano (225mg) has more caffeine than a can of Monster Energy (160mg)!
  • 7-Eleven brewed coffee packs a whopping 280mg per 16oz - that‘s more than most energy drinks!
  • Your average cola has only about 34-38mg per can. That’s less than a cup of black tea!

🤔 Why does this matter?
Understanding your caffeine intake is crucial for:
1️⃣ Optimizing your workout performance
2️⃣ Managing your sleep schedule
3️⃣ Avoiding overconsumption

💡 Pro Tip: Caffeine sensitivity varies person to person. Start low and go slow to find your sweet spot!

🏋️‍♀️ For athletes: Moderate caffeine intake (3-6 mg/kg body weight) about 60 minutes before exercise can enhance performance. But remember, more isn‘t always better!
